Thanks for sharing this video. The KEY is that we have to not only give our students and children "poker chips" but we have to teach them WHO they are and that those who would say things that "take poker chips away" have no power over WHO they are. We can empower students and help them to build a positive self concept by helping them to understand WHO THEY ARE and that they have VALUE. It is a process of helping them discover all of the unique characteristics they possess. It is helping them uncover what they enjoy and where their passions lie. It is teaching them how to and providing them opportunities to meaningfully engage with others.
