Introduction

Hi, I'm Cassidy Turner. I am majoring in DHH Middle Grades with a concentration in English. I am from a really small town where everyone knows everyone and I had never really interacted with anyone who was deaf. (To give you an idea of how small- I graduated high school with 13 other students) When I was in sixth grade a student who was deaf transferred to our school and our teacher taught us some signs and even after the student moved away ASL really stuck with me and kept me interested. This is what made me want to explore a career in becoming a DHH teacher because I have always known that I want to be a teacher.
